A TIME OF CHEER

This holiday season is like no other. Despite the circumstances the world is facing, it should give you more of a reason to make it one to remember. Christmas for my family and I is very important. We make a big deal about it, like a huge deal. Gift exchange is a tradition that we continue to do every year. Our tree is up in the month of November. The children get multiple Christmas pajamas because they have to wear them every night in December. So they need options, of course.

Now with 6 grandchildren in the family, Christmas is an even bigger deal.

We believe that Christmas should be a time of CHEER and through décor, this can be reflected.

To help you bring the CHEER in this holiday season, The WALKERS have listed some tips to make this December absolutely special. And if you are excited about the holiday season like us, we are certain that your December will be one to remember.

Let us decorate your home!

1. Colors, Colors, Colors!

Colors, Colors, Colors! First things first, let’s talk about colors! Colors are a major base when deciding on decorating for the holidays. There’s really never a wrong color to use for Christmas. I’ve seen black décor elements to brighten fuchsia. Just remember colors set the mood. So choose colors that give you the energy that you want.

2. All About the Harmony

The next element is finding harmony between your style, what you have home and what you’ll be purchasing for the holiday season.  There should be a cohesiveness within your space. Find out what your style is at home and your Christmas décor should add to it. Is your style traditional, modern, or eccentric? Whatever it is, your décor should just ADD to what you have.

3. Experience it

Decorating your home should not feel tedious or overwhelming. It should be a fun experience for you. From the shopping to the setting up, let it be a moment that you would want to recreate. If you are one that is hiring a home stylist, he/she should include you in the selection process. It just needs to be an exciting experience for you and your family.

4. Enchantment

Christmas is THE time for you to go ALL out! I hope you heard me shout it out. Christmas is THE time for you to go ALL out! This does not mean that it has to be bulky, but every detail matters. You want every piece to be intriguing. Even if it is your Christmas tree with a hidden ball or a sleek garland that lines your stairs; it should be something magical about your home. Our clients this year, all have the one same element, they all have enchanted décor..

5. Ratio : Ratio

Just like you need a balanced meal, you need a balanced décor. One of the common mistakes is setting up oversized décor pieces in your home that do not go with the size of your home or getting tiny décor pieces  when you have high ceilings. You or your stylist need/s to invest in pieces that go with the size of your space. This forgettable aspect does a lot for your space.
