Learn how being intentional matters in wedding planning...

Having many brides may be overwhelming to any planner that have access to you, rather than your assistant. I think it goes to say that most planners that focus on details love to interact with their brides. For the Walkers, we are intentional in learning about our Brides. We invest in our clients. We form relationships. What we have, also, learnt is that investing so much time can be draining.
Here are some tips that we use to help create magical experiences with our brides.
Back story: Floriane was not your typical bride. She was heavily involved and did not mind conveying her dislikes.
Oh and did we mention, that she hates flowers! Fridays were fun, but also nerve-racking. Here are some tips that allowed us to create an amazing experience with Floriane.
Tip #1 - Choose a Day
Floriane was one of those brides that contacted us every day. She wanted to keep track of every detail and had new ideas, weekly. She was nervous and, sometimes, indecisive. So we designated a day in the week just for her. We called it, Floriane Friday. She placed it in her calendar and ensured to contact us, incase we forgot. Every Friday, we spoke about her day.
She helped us come up with the system of giving each client a day. Overtime, we bent the rules a bit, but she knew she had our full attention on that day.
Tip #2 - Engage in Meaningful Conversations
We became close. Our conversations led to us sharing our life experiences. As planners, we are more than just a planner, but a listening ear. Someone who shares advice when our brides become stressed. We solve problems, we manage emotions when our emotions need managing themselves. Deep conversations taught us more about our bride's personality.
"We see our clients as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It's our job every day to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little bit better." ~ Jeff Bezos

Tip #3 - Details Matter!
Floriane was the detailed bride. She kept tabs on the details. When she didn't know, she would let us know she trusted us. I recall, when she wanted to use the white linens from the resort. After processing the thought, we advised that we wouldn't recommend it. Her personality did not reflect through white linens. She was the trend setter and loved the nudes and browns. She loved making a statement. Her day was filled with details, from the acoustic singer on the lawn as the guests waited for her, to organizing a sunset cocktail hour, before the reception. Details made the experience one-of-a-kind.
Tip #4 - Tell us 'NO!'
Did we mention that this bride didn't like flowers? We think that was the most nerve-racking part of the experience. Figuring out what bouquet she would want to hold in her hands. She made it clear that if she didn't like it, she would walk down the aisle without it. Every bouquet that was sent to her, she disliked. She would send ideas, then change her mind, immediately; however, we appreciated the fact that she shared her discomforts. A bride should be able to share her likes or dislikes safely. Details Matter! It helped us designed the day that made her happy.
Tip #5 - Laugh!
Our final tip is to have moments of laughter with your bride. We laughed so much, until parting ways wasn't an option. We enjoyed our time with Floriane. She became our little sister, a business partner and just an amazing client.
Thank God it's Friday, Floriane Friday!
Floriane reminded us that planning weddings is more than just a job, it is forming a relationship that would last a lifetime. Welcome to the WALKERS' Family, Floriane!
P.S. She loved her flowers.
